Congrats to PRP Creative, a team of six Pleasure Ridge Park High students, who won the top prize in the 13th annual High School Marketing Challenge Competition, sponsored by the American Advertising Federation – Louisville.

PRP Creative initiated a social media campaign on Twitter, Facebook, tumblr, and YouTube, and they created posters, print ads, and a Web site. PRP Creative coordinated support from fellow students, administrators, and PRP’s talented Step Team to offer a flash mob during lunch. The team wins a trophy and $800—and the attention of marketing and advertising professionals throughout the region.

PRP Flash Mob Video to Raise Awareness about Teen Depression

PRP Creative [Brittany Auvil, Taylor Gray, Kelly Hasselbach, Sydney Doyle, Malik Alleyne-Jones and Trevor Gibson] joined forces with Mr. Delong and the PRP Step Team and drummers Bryce Mansfield and Devon Hodge to film a Flash Mob video in the main building during lunch on Friday. The video is part of an advertising campaign created for the 2012 Ad Fed Marketing Challenge, sponsored by Humana.

Special thanks to the talented students in my classes who assisted with filming, painting signs, hanging posters and modeling for the photographs used in our campaign!!!

PRP Student Creates Billboards for Local Radio Station Lite106.9 FM

PRP design student Malik Alleyne-Jones recently worked with our community partner, Cox Radio station Lite 106.9, to create billboards for a new on-air campaign. The billboards are all over town, including a prime location at the Ky Fair & Expo Center [see photo], and a location on Greenwood Road.

PRP’s collaboration with Mr. Brian Eichenberger, Marketing Director of Cox Media began last May. Students were presented with a “design brief,” and created a marketing plan and product designs for four local Cox Radio stations. Over the summer, four winning t-shirt designs were produced, and used for station promotions. Designs by Sydney Doyle, Shelby Rhea and Malik Alleyne-Jones were featured [see online gallery]

These projects provided an outstanding opportunity for students to experience real-world projects for a very high-profile client, complete with revisions, deadlines, market research and budget constraints~and feel the excitement of seeing their work displayed for public viewing.

Congrats to all students, and a huge THANK YOU to Cox Media for their continued support to our graphics program!
